What's the difference between a police duty gear belt, a utility belt and or a plain gear belt? I'm getting my gear together for a law enforcement academy, I was supplied with a shopping list, but the belt descriptions are stumping me.

I have brown nylon police duty gear but i need a different brown holster. Made by strong. can you find a manu.

Where can I find an online store/catalog that sells Brown police/deputy duty gear? All I can find is black.?

For Police Officers, who know about duty gear and gun holsters, I could use some help? Other than Ted Blocker Holsters, who else STILL makes a Swivel Holster? California Knife Laws...? Was this particular police officer ignorant or just not prepared to do his job? I live in Texas. I am a military police officer in the army. I was traveling around a small town in Texas on my way home coming from a wedding and I was traveling alone. I had all of my MP gear in my trunk like my "batman" belt, PR 24 or a "billy/police stick", and my ballistic vest or what some what people call a bullet proof vest or a second chance vest. I was pulled over after re-fueling my 04" Lexus at a closed gas station (pay at pump). The police officer pulled me over for going 4 MPH over the posted speeding limit which was 30 MPH. I did not have a problem with getting pulled over for not obeying the traffic laws which was not intentional; after all I was tired and while I admit I am a police officer myself and I should pay more attention to the post traffic signs I was tired and I made a mistake. What I have a problem with was that I was annoyed with the officer's ignorance and heckling over my police gear. He asked why did I not have a badge and I tactfully responded with, "Sir, military police patrol officers do not get issued badges.". He then asked me, "Well then how do I know your not impersonating a cop?". I asked, "Sir, do you see me wearing police gear?". He aggressively responded with, "Don't get smart young man?". I said, "Sir, please stop heckling me; I am going to give you the number to my police department and you can talk to them to verify my identity and then maybe you can let me go.". He went back to his car to call his boss and came back a few minutes later and said, "Okay, I am going to let you go but I will have to keep your PR 24.". I said, "What?". "Give me the number to you boss or I can call 911 and tell them you are stealing my PR 24, which belongs to an off duty federal law enforcement officer of which was in my trunk away from my reach.". He said, "Sir, I am going to let you off with a warning and you can keep your PR 24.". I said, "Thank you sir!". He gave me back my information and I left. So what do you think of that police officer?

Fathers day gifts for a cop? I am out of ideas for this man of mine. He is a police officer and has every sort of tactical thing you can imagine. I would have our kids make him a special something but they are only 3years old and 11 months. Flowers arent his style, and he already has shavers and gadgets for the computer and camera. I've also looked at flashlights, duty gear, and boots. I'm tellin you the man has everything. Any suggestions? I forgot to add he just bought a new 500 Smith and Wesson.

Impersonating a Police Officer..what do you think of this story? long story short..my brother got pulled over last wednesday about 1am when he was leaving his club security job for expired tags. before I go any further Im going to give a short bio. My brother served in the army got discharged in 92' then became a police officer in tennessee..left there about 00'/01'..went to work for a prison for a couple years then another til oct 07'..while at the last prison became a member of the state drug task force.. Back to the story.... So when the officers pulled him over they questioned him about his PBA emblem on the back of the car. He explained that he was in law enforcement and was a member. They asked for proof so he showed them a honor badge that he received when he was on duty in tennessee. He was involved in a shoot out and they awarded him a badge and vest that he got to keep. They didnt believe him and check to see if he was employed with the tennessee department and he wasnt (no shit). they then searched his car and found his old black teeshirt that says police on the back of it, handcuffs, a gun belt (that he wore at the prison that wasnt even complete) and a whole bunch of military gear from when his platoon was about to go to Saudi during the Gulf War(that was in his car because he was about to sell it ebay).He showed them his old military id..the Sgt said Bull**** and took him to jail.. He was charged with expired tags, no insurance and impersonating a police officer We bailed him out that day..Later that night he had to go work at the club again and guess what ..THE SAME F**king COP pulled him over again..this time his tags and insurance was current. He just wanted to see what was up.( What the f**k is up with that) I forgot to add something he also does security at his apartment complex..Moving on Saturday moving we read an article in the newspaper saying that he was pulled over said he was currently a cop..had no insurance bc he just got back from Iraq.had all this police stuff in his car that he wasnt suppose to have, and he deceived his apartment complex to get discounted rent and was wanted on new charges. I dont understand because yes he is getting a PARTIAL discount not FULL bc he used to be in law enforcement and works for the task force at his complex. I personally was there when he explained to the property manager his law enforcement background so I know he didnt lie to them. So the new charge Theft by Deception is some b.s., on top of that the complex isnt pressing charges and didnt supply that information. the only reason the police found out is bc they had a warrent to look in his rental file at the complex and seen that his rent was discounted.. We do have a lawyer and the complex is writting a statment indicating that they were not deceived by my brother in any way. What is your feelings on this story..and please mature opinions..thanks! Navy veterans that have gone into the police academy afterwards? I have a question geared towards cops, or people currently in police academy, if they were veterans of the Navy. Others can answer, but the details are a bit specific to Naval service. Its been my dream to become a police officer and since graduating high school I've been taking steps towards my goal. I recently started to heavily consider joining the Navy (another dream of mine over the years) and I think I'm going to enlist. The Navy offers a wide variety of different fields of interest that you can be taught in preparation for your Tour of Duty... this is where my question comes in. Logically, if my initial goal is to become a cop, I should go with the "Law Enforcement & Security" option when I'm trained by the Navy for specific jobs. Even though I'd love to do LE&S, I thought it might be interesting to try one of the other various fields instead (for instance, "Mechanical & Industrial" would be interesting to learn, or even "Emergency, Fire, and Rescue"). So back to my initial point, do you believe that specific training in a certain field (other than LE&S) will lessen my chances of a policing job? Thanks for any input. bREAKING NEWS 40 arrested in southwest Valley crime suppression sweep BYSheriff Arpaio RACIAL PROFILING AGAIN? AVONDALE, Ariz. – Officials say 40 suspects were arrested during a Maricopa County Sheriff's Office crime suppression sweep throughout several southwest Valley cities that ended Friday night. Of those arrested, 20 were found to be in the country illegally, according to MCSO officials. According to a Saturday news release, nine undocumented immigrants were booked on state charges and the other 19 were turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. The others were arrested on a variety of charges ranging from DUI to driving on a suspended license, drug possession and misdemeanor and felony warrants. Deputies are also investigating a home invasion that occurred just before midnight during the suppression operation. The suspects were reported to be wearing police raid gear and were heavily armed when they kidnapped two victims from a home on the 13000 block of West Campbell. One of the victims was rescued by deputies and the other is still outstanding. Deputies were also able to recover weapons and the raid gear used in the invasion. The crime suppression also led deputies on a high-speed pursuit of a suspect who rammed into a deputy’s vehicle trying to evade arrest, according to the report. The pursuit began when a deputy observed the suspect passing him at over 100 miles per hour and failed to yield as the deputy tried to stop him. That suspect was subsequently arrested on Aggravated Assault of a Peace Officer, Criminal Damage, Felony Flight, Reckless Driving, Criminal Speed, Driving a Stolen Vehicle, Possessing a Stolen License Plate, Driving on a Suspended License and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Starting at 5 p.m. Thursday, the sheriff mobilized 200 volunteer posse members and deputies. The command post for the operation was set up at the Sheriff’s Avondale Office District II sub station, located at 920 E. Van Buren Street, just west of Dysart Road. Arpaio is expected to return to the command post at about 6 p.m. Friday night, in spite of a reported 60 protesters showing up Thursday, the report said. Can Military Men Lie About Being Deployed? My friend's brother-in-law has been married to her sister for almost 8 years. They have 2 little girls. Since day one of their marriage, he has been shirking his responsiblities. Early on, he would stay out all night with his Marine buddies. Then, he was "stationed" with the State Police about clear across the state (he had to move out and get an apartment there). Then, he was "deployed" with a unit that he wasn't even a part of. He found out that the unit he was in wasn't going to Iraq and positioned himself to leave with another unit. And that unit is OUT OF STATE! He went and came back home. Now, he has been living in Michigan since May 2006. Supposedly with the Marines. AND, he had to pay for EVERYTHING! He claims that the Marine Corps doesn't pay for him to be on Active Duty, so he has a huge hotel bill! And he has to buy all of his war gear out of pocket?? Now he is leaving in August to Afghanistan with a unit out of Florida? WHAT IS GOING ON????!!!! Question should be: IS HE LYING ABOUT BEING DEPLOYED? Is it probable that I will become a detective or SWAT w/ military experience and college credits? I am a United States Marine Corps Reservist, I get off active duty and will check in to my reserve unit this summer. I will be 21 years old with 24 college credits and i've earned 21 transferrable college credits while in the marine corps. I want to know how quickly can i become a detective or swat member with 45 college credits(just different courses not involved with criminal justice), military experience, and a clean background. I plan to work for the Dallas, TX police department. So is it possible to become detective without a degree and how long would it take. Also can police officers bring their own gear(face mask, ballistic shields, night vision monoculars) while patrolling?

If I wasn't selling it I would put a 5 speed in) The Car was my primary transportation for about 4 years, I drove back and forth from Greenville (about a 200 mile round trip) once or twice a week and it never let me down or left me stranded. I bought it from a guy in Charlotte because I just had to have a 'Cop Car', drove it back to Greenville, and noticed the car had no Oil pressure. LESSON ONE: Cop cars are surplused out becuase they are worn out. I swapped another police motor into the car, which lasted the next 4 years. LESSON TWO: Crown Vic's were designed to be fleet cars and are very easy to work on, if you have the right tools you can swap an engine out in an afternoon. Apparently I never learned lesson one or I woudn't have swaped in another police motor becuase after 4 years it blew a head gasket. I bought a $400 beat to crap Toyota pickup to go pick the third motor up with (which is the motor in the car now, a 2002 out of a Civlian Mercury Marque with 61K on it) and about that time the Gas started to get expensive and the Toyota got around 35 MPG so I basicly parked the Vic and drove the Toyota from there on. When I swaped the motor in I also replaced the radiator with a Heavy duty replacement (correct for the police package). The Current motor (the 2002 motor with 61K on it) runs great, better than either of the police motors that were in the car. I wouldn't hesatate to get in and take it on a 500 mile trip. Here is the bad news; The transmission shakes. The transmission has shaken since day one, I remember it shaking when I test drove it in Charlotte, I remember it shaking all the way back to Greenville. I attribute this to LESSON ONE (see above) although a transmission shop may be able to flush the fluid or adjust something to clear it up. I don't think it is on it's last leg because I drove it for 4 years with the same shake in it and it never got worse (although it never cleared up either). If you are a gear head you may already know the 92 Crown Vic came with an AOD-E transmission with Computer Controlled lock-up (AOD-E stands for Automatic OverDrive - Electronic). They only used this transmission for one year and then switched to a totally computer controlled transmission so you can't swap a later model Crown Vic transmission in it because the '92 computer won't control it. You might be able to swap an earlier transmission that requires no computer control (like a C4 or a C6) into it; or perhaps a 5 speed out of a mustang if you are really handy with fabrication. Or you can just leave it be like I did. Also the 2002 is the PI (Performance Improved) motor which has the factory ported heads and bigger cams in them, I think it is good for about 35 HP over the 92 spec engine. I love Crown Vics, they are the last American Rear Wheel Drive car that came with a V8 on a full frame. They are fast but don't feel like it cause of the suspension, they drink gas (I think this got 16 MPG no matter what) and you can hide 6 or 7 bodies in the trunk. There is nothing quite like it. I wacked the top off last summer so I could have a convertible and figured I would send it to the scrap yard after I had my fun with it. I just don't have the heart to do it. On a legal note, I got the car inspected the day before I cut the top off (june I think so it is good through june of '09). I don't know if it will pass inspection or not; there is no specific way to fail a car because of 'body work' but who knows? I usually go out in the country (like out to rural Knightdale or Wendell) to get 'questonable' cars inspected. Anyways, I have run way off track Yes, the car drives as is; nothing needs to be fixed on it. Do you think the CPS were right to drop charges? My 18 y/o daughter was recently assaulted (sexually) by my ex- S.I.L's 50 y/o Partner. My daughter was traumatised as she thought he was a good friend and all the while he was "grooming" her. Her mother (bitch!) tried to sweep it under the carpet & warned her not to tell me (her Father), as I would "deck" him! A fortnight goes by and nothings been done, so she tells me. I flip, but respect her wishes & instead of battering him (50 y/o perv.), I go by the book & involve the Police. Statements are taken from various people involved, he's arrested but deny's any wrong doing. After not much by the Police, he's free with no charges brought!! Earlier, he had told my ex- S.I.L "****" said I'd done this. She realises "****" was telling the truth, as this is what they do while they have sex. She makes him go and apologise (I wouldn't have done this if I was innocent, as it makes you guilty straight away!). Her own Mother kicks her out for telling me instead of giving her the support she so badly needed. Ended up staying round one of her mates homes as all her friends were there (told her to get her gear & come live with me but, refused "see latter").
