what is the diiference between level 1 and level 2 gun holsters?

Public Comments

  1. Possibly the level of retention for law-enforcement. Many holsters are being designed that make it harder for anyone other than the person wearing the holster to remove the weapon.
  2. it IS the level of retention in a holster. Holsters may have certain devices/features that retain the gun from unwanted/unauthorized removal of the firearm from the holster. Things such as a strap, a button, a lever or other feature that makes it difficult or impossible for the gun to be removed without disengaging the retention device. Most Law enforcement officers are required to use a retention holster so badguys cannot remove the weapon from the officers holster. The levels refer to the number or difficulty of the holster to retain the weapon from unwanted removal. for instance a weapon that has a strap to retain the weapon may be refered to as a level one holster. A holster that has a button and a strap to retain the weapon may be a level two holster, and so on.
  3. Gun retention security level.
