What does the auto lock level on Serpa Holsters mean?
I'm looking at getting a blackhawk Serpa holster. I noticed that they advertise a level 2 and level 3 auto lock feature. What does that mean exactly? Whats the difference between the two levels?

- Level 2 has one button/lever on the side that you need to press in as you draw, in order to release the weapon from the holster. Level 3 holsters have two locking mechanisms that must both be released in order to draw the weapon. Usually it's a release at the top that you operate with your thumb at the same time you operate the side release with your index finger. Here is a web page that shows pictures of a level 3 holster, and the locking mechanisms: http://thegunwiki.com/Gunwiki/GearSerpaL3Sig The thumb locking mechanism may not be exactly the same as in the pictured holster. However, there will be some kind of thumb release lock in a level 3 holster, in addition to the side lever.
