What brand of binoculars are good but not overly expensive?
I want to get someone a set of binoculars for christmas, he uses them for hunting. I only want to spend about 50 dollars on them, anyone have any advice about brand or type or something? I'm thinking either Gander Mountain or Fleet Farm?

- The cheapest pair at Wal-Mart will be just fine. In recent years the difference between the very best and the worse as really diminished. Tasco is always a good bet.
- I have been very impressed with galileo binos, much better than my tascos and bushnells and amazon sells them pretty cheap
- My buddy got my a pair last year for my B-day. Bushnell auto-focusing. 8x. There's no adjustment knob, whatever you look at is in focus, very cool field glasses.
- I take people out birdwatching I have several loaners: http://www.opticsplanet.net/bushnell-binoculars-12x32-powerview-roof.html http://www.opticsplanet.net/tasco-10x50-essentials.html http://www.opticsplanet.net/tasco-essentials-binoculars-frp-compact-12x32-es1232.html http://www.opticsplanet.net/tasco-essentials-binoculars-frp-compact-10x32-es1032.html http://www.opticsplanet.net/bushnell-binoculars-10x32-frp-black-powerview-calm.html Tasco and Bushnell are the same company. The basic lines are quite good.
