How safe are infrared flashlights?
How safe are infrared flashlights? I want a really bright infrared flashlight for taking pictures outdoors and in caves. Should I wear special safety glasses or anything? I'm talking about using it for an hour at a time or more. TJ-You can't see x-rays, microwaves, or nuclear radiation either. Just because it's invisible doesn't mean it's safe.

- You can't see infra-red, so I don't see how they'll hurt your eyes.
- Infrared light is not dangerous. We are exposed to it all the time from the sun. Ultra violet, also comes from sunlight, is dangerous it produces sunburn that can lead to skin cancer. The warmth you feel from sunlight is produced by infrared light. The only problem with infrared would be from being too close to an infrared heat source for too long. This could cause a burn like any other burn. Sun block cream blocks ultraviolet light, it's not necessary to block the infrared light .
